The Douglas County Sheriff's Auxiliary/Crime Prevention Unit is a volunteer, non-commissioned unit serving in a support capacity, providing extra year-round patrols in communities and residence checks while homeowners are away. While performing a residence check, the Auxiliary will check the exterior of the home for open windows, doors, or any other signs of activity.
The Civil Division is managed by Chief Civil Deputy. We serve legal documents throughout the county, perform evictions, sheriff sales of real and personal property, and enforce the orders of the court.
The Douglas County Department of Emergency Management is responsible for the planning, coordination, and implementation of all emergency mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery efforts, including Homeland Security related activities for Douglas County.
We have two detectives and a detective sergeant working cases in all parts of the county. The detectives are supervised by the detective sergeant under the direction of the Chief Criminal Deputy.
The Patrol Division encompasses the largest and most visible function of the Douglas County Sheriff's Office. It is our first line of service to the citizens of Douglas County and as such, our most important asset.
